Christian Show Act of God Back for 2006 Season in Branson

The Act of God show holds its own among over 100 Branson shows. This Christian show offers comedy, music and much more than mere entertainment.

The main ingredient for Act of God is "The Lord's Prayer". Four sections of the prayer are baked into an incredibly entertaining format using “Carol Burnett Style” skits and original music, and seasoned with a talented cast of quick-witted servants of the Lord. What you end up with is truly a feast and one of the best kept secrets in Branson.

Act of God certainly won’t be a secret for long. This encouraging little jewel hidden in the hills of the Ozarks is a ministry, having filed for 501(c)(3), and has been inspiring people from all over the country for over a year. What's interesting is many of these people aren't coming to see another highly publicized show and catching Act of God while they’re in town. They’re coming specifically to see Act of God, a low budget five-character musical play based on principles of the Lord’s Prayer. But why?

Could it be because of Act of God’s world-class sound track produced by Branson's own City Walk Studio? Maybe it’s the extraordinary comic timing of an extremely talented and personable cast. Perhaps it’s the fact that everyone in the cast and crew including the theater owners and staff know what’s most important: That you can't glorify yourself and God at the same time. Act of God isn't about what a cast of talented actors can do; it's about what a loving God can do through you, the audience.

“Most entertainment is cotton candy; sweet, colorful and puffed up, and disappears before it gets to your stomach,” says John Lindsay, producer of Act of God. "What God had allowed us to do through Act of God is provide the same great standard of entertainment Branson audiences are used to. The key difference is we've used subject matter worth remembering."
